xx D.I.C.E Recap + Future Events
February 18, 2013, 07:12:06 am by The_Creatures | Views: 3842 | Comments: 19

So getting back from the D.I.C.E Awards a little over a week ago i decided it may be a good idea to post this little recap and give a little bit of an insight on some of the plans and events we may attend this year.

The D.I.C.E awards were held in Las Vegas, around the corner from where the very first Minecon was hosted. Supposedly this was the 16th annual award show, but everyone we talked to had only just heard of them within a few weeks of being there.... The event itself was defiantly something different for us. Going from a very social and lax event like PAX to an event where you are expected to "look your best" and sit in an area filled with nothing but game industry people is quite the shift. All in all seeing the people that create or voice some of your favorite video game characters made it a good experience, something different but welcomed as getting to meet a lot of industry people doesn't happen very often.

Last year we attended a fair share of events throughout the year so i figured because we get asked if we are visiting "this place or that place" i'll throw out some early plans. Last year we attended PAX East & Prime, E3, Comic Con, Gamescom and RTX. There may be some in between but with those alone there was a lot of travel involved throughout the year. Those events also produced a good set of content that went up on TheCreatureHub or TheCreatures Facebook page around the time of the event so check those out if you haven't already.

This year, as of this writing we may be looking at somewhat of a similar schedule depending on tickets, again none of these are set in stone due to being so early in the year. They are just events that have been talked about.

Possible UK Event (Eurogamer?)
PAX East - A few Creatures already have tickets, likely not everyone will make it.
PAX Prime
E3
RTX
PAX Australia
Minecon (If they do another, maybe)
Comic Con tickets sold like crazy so it may be unlikely this year

As you can see, we have quite the plate of events which contains much travel. I'm sure we will give updates if we secure spots at the events so be sure to listen in on CT but for the sake of those asking, these are what we are looking into.

Thanks for reading!

xx Tr4pVille Pilot Released!!!
The Creatures

As many people already know, yesterday we released the pilot of our brand new Borderlands Machinima series "Tr4pVille". If you have not seen it already, please watch it now before I go into more explanation:

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vFEOtHu09oc" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vFEOtHu09oc</a>

So far we have got nothing but amazing support from you guys, which is awesome considering the amount of time that was sunk into just this pilot episode. We streamed the premiere of the pilot in front of 27,000 people on Twitch, got #Tr4pville trending in the US, and managed to reach 25,000 likes in a day! After the release, I noticed that there were plenty of questions being asked in the comments and on Twitter about the series in general, and I thought it would be a good idea to type this up to let everyone know what the plan is. So, the pilot is now complete and uploaded for the world to see, this is pretty much step one in getting feedback from fans and others to see if the series is worth creating. Naturally, you guys pulled through and showed us that this is something you want to see more of, which we are very grateful for (Me in particular because I spent so much time on this one video haha).

With the pilot done and well received, we are now going to move onto flushing out the overall story of the series. We currently have the general story arcs for the first 3 seasons of the show, as well as a good solid idea of what exactly is happening during the first season. We plan on each season being 6 episodes that are an average of about 5 minutes in length(The finales will end up being much longer in order to tie things up and what not). I am hoping to get started on the first season sometime this month at the latest, that way we can have this first season all finished and ready to be released weekly sometime during the summer months. So as for the release date, I really can't say exactly, but I can say that it won't be for a few months since we want to have the 1st season completed before release. As for characters, those who you saw in the pilot are not the only characters in existence(btw, watch the credits if you don't know who is who), which means we WILL have the other Creatures in the series, as well as cameos from other familiar people along the way. So be prepared for that!

Another thing that would be good to point out is our new member to the team. When we started brainstorming the series, we knew that we needed someone to help us with some stuff on the 3D end of things. So, we brought on my good friend Lemur who I have known for a while. He currently handles Storyboarding, concept art, modelling, rigging, and helping with animations. With Lemur working on the 3D stuff I didn't have a clue about, I could hammer away at animation and all other things Unreal related. Without him on board, this really wouldn't have been possible, so thank you Lemur and we look forward to working with you more. We also had our friends JP Neufeld and Daniel James work on the sound end of things, which turned out amazing. With any luck, they will be helping us for the entire series Smiley

Anyway, we have HUGE things planned for this series and can only hope that you guys love it as much as we have fun creating it. Feel free to send over any more questions in the comment section here or over twitter and I will do my best to answer them. We do talk about this on this week's Creature Talk (Which is amazing btw), so go give it a listen: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ruPdeBpRgkg

Thanks for reading everything guys! And don't forget the send the pilot of Tr4pville to everyone you know!
